Linney's - The Pink Argyle Diamond Quokka
About
Linneys is one of WA’s most famous jewellers and have been forging handcrafted pieces of art for nearly 40 years. They have created a limited run of three Quokkas encrusted with over 3 carats of Pink Argyle Diamonds, and more than 10 carats of white and argyle champagne diamonds. They took this to the home of the Quokka – Rottnest Island, to show off this masterpiece.
Task
We collaborated with Peach and Pineapple, along with local photographer – XYZ to create a cinematic behind the scenes style video. The purpose was to capture the craftsmanship of the Quokka, while integrating it with the stunning local environment of Rottnest Island.
Approach
We wanted nothing more than to do the Pink Argyle Diamond Quokka justice, and nailing every shot was incredibly important to us. We took long slow motion shots of the talent to really bring that cinematic edge to this, while highlighting the natural beauty through wide sweeping drone footage. The weather was a bit naff so we needed to rely less on the sun and horizon than usual, but we think it turned out pretty great.
Result
As always, we love collaborating with Peach and Pineapple as they really know how to bring the goods when it comes to cool projects! The opportunity to film what is essentially Western Australia’s version of a Faberge Egg was an awesome experience – we hope to see at least one of these in a gallery near us soon!
